Tuscany
Civilisation distilled into landscape. Beauty that has had two thousand years to settle.
About

Tuscany is the argument that European travel was built upon. Its hills, vineyards, and medieval hilltowns exist in a relationship with one another that feels arranged rather than accidental — and in some cases, it was. The Val d'Orcia landscape was designed to frame the view from Pienza. The cypress-lined roads exist as aesthetic statements. Florence contains within a few square kilometres a concentration of Renaissance art unmatched anywhere. The luxury product here is the agriturismos, the wine estates, the private palaces converted into hotels, the ability to eat extraordinarily well within twenty minutes of where you wake up.

Best For

Culturally literate travellers, those who appreciate food and wine as serious subjects, slow travellers, families with older children interested in art and history. High D6 (aesthetic sensitivity), moderate D4 (slower pace preferred), low D3 (novelty through depth rather than difference).

Avoid If

You have already done Tuscany twice and are seeking genuine novelty. You dislike driving — the landscape requires a car to unlock. Peak summer (July–August) brings extreme heat and crowds to Florence.

Sample Itinerary

A representative 3-day framework. Your actual itinerary is composed after your SoulPrint consultation.

Day 01
Florence Arrival
  • Arrive in Florence and check in to your central property
  • The Uffizi requires booking weeks in advance — if you haven't, do so now for Day 2
  • Evening dinner at a trattoria in Oltrarno — the unfashionable side of the Arno that is, as a result, the better side.
Day 02
Art & the Chianti Road
  • Morning in the Uffizi — two hours, not four
  • Pick one room to focus on
  • Afternoon drive south through Chianti: Greve, Panzano, the enoteca at Badia a Passignano

Day 03
Val d'Orcia
